Responsibilities

Some of my responsibilities included maintaining our reception desk, answering phone calls and helping anyone who comes through the front door. I made a lot of signage for many different events, as well as getting a ton of experience of making professional phone calls to ask for sponsorship for different events. I also got to put a lot of my input in when we started to plan new events.

Accomplishments

I would say that my biggest accomplishment was making so many connections with so many different people. I will more than likely always live around the Decorah area, so having connections was very important to me. Knowing people around you is important because sometimes you run into situations you can't do on your own!

Learning experience

My greatest lesson learned was to be willing to do the small sometimes 'less important' things. Willingness to do these smaller tasks shows that you are always willing to step in wherever needed and shows that you are willing to learn and become more knowledgable.

What advice would you give?

My biggest advice is do not be afraid to ask questions at your internship. Internships are about doing hands on work, but they are also about learning. When you are an intern your boss will not expect you to know everything, so ask the questions!
