Noreen Rodriguez receives award for research from AERA SIG

Noreen Rodriguez, an assistant professor in the School of Education, will receive the 2021 Research on the Education of Asian and Pacific Americans Early Career Award from a special interest group of the American Educational Research Association.  The award recognizes Rodriguez’s scholarly contributions to research on the education of Asian Americans, made in the beginning stages of her professorial career.  Her research focuses on Asian American education, including representation in Asian American children’s literature and the educational experiences of Asian Americans in Iowa, and the teaching of difficult histories such as Japanese American incarceration to young children. The award is administered by AERA’s Research on the Education of Asian and Pacific Americans special interest group.
