In an article publish by the Ames Tribune, faculty from the School of Education were recognized for their collaboration with the Ames school board. Daniel Spikes, an assistant professor in the School of Education, and Katy Swalwell, an associate professor in the School of Education, have helped facilitate professional development programming for school board members to develop ‘critical consciousness’ as it pertains to racial disparities in the education system.
