Kudos
Chelsea Smith, a graduate student in the student affairs master’s program in the School of Education, on May 7 received the 2018 Learning Communities Outstanding Innovation award for her work as the graduate assistant for multicultural student success in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. In this role, Smith was responsible for supervising and advising nine peer mentors in the BOLD Learning Community. She went above and beyond to extend the boundaries of student learning and created programs that effectively engage students (specifically students of color) beyond the traditional student leader experience. She was honored at a reception Monday at the Scheman Building.
