Displaying announcements on a Canvas Course home page

If an instructor chooses, they can make their most recent course announcements display on the course home page. By default, this feature is turned off. To turn it on, go to Settings > Course Details tab. Scroll to bottom of the page and click “more options.” Checkmark the box to show recent Announcements, then select how many should display. Base your number choice on the length and frequency of your posts. Typically two or three is enough; more runs the risk of out-of-date (irrelevant) information cluttering the Home Page and encumbering students’ ability to navigate the course. Students can click the Announcements link in the Course menu to see an archive of all available course announcements.
