Education alumnus Jerlando Jackson’s research has been honored by ASHE. He’s also been named department chair at UW-Madison
October 16, 2018Alumnus Jerlando Jackson (Ph.D. Educational Leadership and Policy ’00) will be honored with the Mildred GarcĂa Award for Exemplary Scholarship for senior practitioner-scholars, from the Association for the Study of Higher Education. The award, which was established by the ASHE Council on Ethnic Participation Origins, recognizes exemplary scholarship that focuses on research and issues specifically related to underrepresented populations of color. Jackson is the Vilas Distinguished Professor of Higher Education at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, and director and chief research scientist of Wisconsin’s Equity and Inclusion Laboratory. He’s recently been appointed department chair for educational leadership and policy analysis at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education.
