Erin Doran receives research grant to study Latinx community college students

Erin Doran, an assistant professor in the School of Education, is awarded $10,000 from the Conference on College Composition and Communication, part of the National Council for Teachers of English, to conduct research on Latinx students who are placed in developmental education. Her focus is to better understand how Latinx students develop better confidence in their reading and writing skills and how this contributes to their academic growth. This research will inform classroom and institutional practice for better serving Latinx students.
