FSHN graduate student a part of winning team at worldwide 2018 Food Solutions Challenge: Samuel Kiprotich, a graduate student in food science and human nutrition, was a part of the winning Iowa State team at the worldwide 2018 Food Solutions Challenge. Kiprotich, along with team members Emmanuel Nsamba and Mike Sserunjogi, received $5,000 for their idea to improve the shelf life of cassava, a staple food in Africa that can rot within three days of harvest.
