How to order course accounts

Each time you teach, you need to order a new Canvas account. ISU provides two different options for ordering your Canvas class accounts: ‘Request a New Course Shell’ and ‘Prepare to Teach’. Both are accessed by going to ISU Canvas > Help > Global Course Administration. If you’re the instructor of record, ordering for the current semester, and have only 1 section, use the Prepare to Teach method. For all other circumstances, we recommend using the Request a New Course shell tool (the drawback to this method is that it creates a default enrollment section with the same name as the course account). The instructor of record will need to use the Prepare to Teach tool to enroll one or more class lists into the account, taking care to use any pre-made accounts if they exist. Finally, publish the account so that students can enter it.
