How to publish your Canvas course
August 7, 2020Now that you have your Canvas course set up and enrolled the students, you must unlock, i.e. Publish, it in order for students to see and enter it. You can check your course’s Publish status by going to its Course Menu > Settings > Course Details tab – the status is listed in the upper part of the page. There are two ways you can publish your course. First, if you are in your course, go to the Course Menu > ISU AdminTools > View Additional Course Settings > Course Visibility: click the “Published” toggle so it displays as a green “yes”. The second method is through the Prepare to Teach tool, which is reached by going to Canvas Help > Global Course Administration > Prepare to Teach. Your unpublished courses are displayed as red boxes and published ones as green boxes. There is a “Published” button in the upper right corner of each box that you click to toggle from No to Yes.
