Iowa State awarded grant from USDA to continue hosting Regional Center for Food Safety: Iowa State has received an $800,000 grant to continue hosting the North Central Region Center for FSMA Training, Extension and Technical assistant to help fruit and vegetable growers comply with the Food Safety Modernization Act. Angela Shaw, associate professor of food science and human nutrition, is leading education efforts for the center, which was established in 2016 after Iowa State was awarded a $1.1 million grant to start it.
