As the new executive director of Black Men Teach, a program that strives to increase the number of Black male elementary school teachers in the Twin Cities, Flynn aims to change classrooms one teacher at a time.
“Iowa State allowed me to discover who I am and what I am interested in. It gave me access to opportunities to develop my passion and skill set,” said Flynn, who credits Iowa State programs and his experiences in the Black Student Alliance and the Black Graduate Student Association for preparing him.
