KHOI FM Radio features Black Lives Matter student coursework and exhibit: KHOI Radio Local Talk show host Gale Seiler on Monday interviewed apparel, merchandising, and design sophomores Brandon Spencer, Crystal Davis and assistant professor Kelly Reddy-Best about an Iowa State University course in which students examine black identity and dress in relation to politics and history. Students in the class learned history and cultural-study research methodology to curate a two-dimensional exhibit. The 18-minute radio segment began about 15 minutes into the show, which is also available as a podcast. The ‘Black Lives Matter: Fashion, Liberation and the Fight for Freedom’ exhibit is on display at the Ames Public Library through Tuesday, December 11. The students will talk about the exhibit in a free public lecture on Tuesday, December 4, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4; a one-hour reception precedes the 7 p.m. lecture.
