Lanningham-Foster named interim chair as MacDonald assumed associate deanship

Lorraine Lanningham-Foster will assume leadership as interim chair of the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition as longstanding chair Ruth MacDonald becomes associate dean for personnel and finance in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, effective July 1.
Lanningham-Foster, an associate professor, holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and a Ph.D. from the University of Florida. Her research focuses on understanding the relationship between diet, physical activity, and pediatric obesity.
The Department of Food Sciences and Human Nutrition is co-administered by the College of Human Sciences and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
