Mark your calendar for #MeToo lecture by Tarana Burke, March 26: Tarana Burke is founder of the #MeToo hashtag campaign that has emerged as a rallying cry for people who have survived sexual assault and sexual harassment. Now a senior director of programs at Girls for Gender Equity, Burke has dedicated more than 25 years of her life to social justice and to laying the groundwork for a movement that was initially created to help young women of color who survived sexual abuse and assault. She shares the story behind the the viral ‘me too’ movement, which has been collectively named Time magazine’s 2017 Person of the Year, and helps those who have experienced sexual trauma or harassment to gain strength and heal. The lecture is at 8 p.m. on Monday, March 26 at Stephen’s Auditorium. Free. No tickets. General admission seating.
