Mayo Clinic orthopedic biomechanics expert will discuss healthcare culture, medical and biochemical research in Pease Family Scholar lecture, Feb. 6: Kai-Nan An, emeritus director of the orthopedic biomechanics laboratory at the Mayo Clinic, will discuss ongoing research on medical and biochemical factors influencing soft tissue integrity, performance, and remodeling in a lecture at 7 p.m., Feb. 6, in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union in Ames. He will also discuss the culture in health care and his personal life lessons from working at the Mayo Clinic. An is the 2020 Pease Family Scholar in the Iowa State University Department of Kinesiology. The Department of Kinesiology and Committee on Lectures (funded by Student Government) are co-sponsors of the event.
