Nine Iowa State students receive national YMA Fashion Scholarships
January 3, 2018Jennifer Junker, Emma Kachelmeyer, Ben Poirier, Madeline Kim, Abigail Goeser, Tara Efobi, Sarah Wright, J’Dah Mason, and Sydney Cline will receive scholarships from the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund, the premier educational fashion nonprofit in the United States. The students competed in a case study competition which explored how the weaving together of digital technology with offline shopping can improve the performance of a fashion retailer. Each of the winning students will receive a $5,000 scholarship, while Goeser will receive $7,500 for having one of the nation’s highest point totals. Scholarship winners will be recognized at a gala Jan. 9 in New York City. This year’s competition was one of the organization’s most competitive, with 540 submissions from 60 member schools. A total of 227 scholarships will be awarded totaling $1.2 million.
