School of Education alumna Teresa Green wins 2018 I.O.W.A. STEM Teacher Award for north central Iowa region

Teresa Green, a technology teacher at Edwards Elementary School in Ames who in 1998 received her master’s degree from Iowa State in curriculum and instructional technology, on Jan. 18 received 2018 I.O.W.A. STEM Teacher Award for the north central Iowa region. The award, sponsored by the Iowa Governor’s STEM Advisory Council and Kemin Industries, celebrates six teachers across the state who have led the charge in encouraging Iowa’s youth to develop a passion for STEM fields. Recipients receive $1,500 as well as an additional $1,500 for their classrooms. Award recipients must demonstrate excellent STEM opportunities in their curriculum, encourage lifelong learning and inspire a passion for the STEM field beyond the classroom. The news was featured by the Ames Tribune and by the Iowa State Daily.
