A new Iowa State University course offered for the summer term will explore theory and evidence-based approaches to changing human behaviors that effect a person’s health. The 3-credit health studies course developed by Kira Werstein, an associate teaching professor in kinesiology and health, will feature practical ways to improve everyday choices related to smoking, exercise, sleep, nutrition, and more. Students will learn how to help themselves and others practice introspection and increase self-awareness, motivation, and confidence — to better align their lifestyle with their personal values.
