Research

Greg Pliler, program specialist in human development and family studies, received a one-year $21,285 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice. This project focuses on modifying the Coalition Kaizen Coaching process, the signature tool that the National Guard Counterdrug Civil Operations uses to increase effectiveness of community coalitions and ultimately reduce substance abuse in their communities. This project adjusts several aspects of the original process, and transitions to become completely virtual to help coalitions who are not located near a National Guard Counterdrug post. This project will be evaluated to identify any differences in overall effectiveness.

This research team also includes Cassandra Knutson and Hsiu-Chen Yeh in human development and family studies.
