Tree planted in Lagomarcino courtyard to celebrate growing relationship with China: A China Snow Peking lilac tree was planted May 2 in the Lagomarcino Hall courtyard, while another tree was planted at Xinlian College in Zhengzhou, China, to celebrate both Arbor Day and Iowa State University’s academic partnerships, joint research, and programs with China. Many international students from China study at Iowa State. ‘Our tree will bloom each May to honor the students from China who are graduating that year,’ said Iowa State University – College of Human Sciences associate dean Linda Serra Hagedorn. ‘I encourage all present to accept this tree as a sign of our growing relationship.’
