Visit ‘Designed for a Modern Life: Decorative Arts and Fashion in the Mid-century’ exhibit in the Textiles and Clothing Museum: The Textiles and Clothing Museum and University Museums at Iowa State has announced the collaborative winter-spring exhibition, Designed for a Modern Life: Decorative Arts & Fashion in the Mid-century, at the Christian Petersen Art Museum and the adjoining Textiles and Clothing Museum. The exhibition includes selections from both permanent collections and select loans including objects from designers such as Charles and Ray Eames, Hans Wegner, Georg Jensen, Jens Risom, Russel Wright, Alvar Aalto, Tapio Wirkkala, Roy Lichtenstein, Pricilla Sage, Paul Sachs, James Galanos, and Christian Dior. The joint exhibition is open Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. except during university holidays and breaks, through April 13, 2019.
