Why can’t TA/Co-teacher see students on Canvas

Canvas

In Canvas, TA’s and Co-teachers can only see students if they are registered in the same enrollment Sections as the students. Academic departments inform the Registrar of the official Instructor of Record for each Registrar Sections. This gets the Instructor (Teacher) on the same Registrar list as the students but not the Co-teacher or TA. When Registrar Section lists are enrolled into the Canvas course, the TA and Co-teachers are not enrolled. When a Canvas account is ordered using the “Request a New Course Shell” form, a default enrollment section having the same name as the course is created and it contains the account owner and any other names that were entered on the order form – but no students. After enrolling students (Registrar section lists), the Instructor must go within the Canvas Course > ISU AdminTools > Manage Additional People > enroll TAs and Co-teachers into the the new student sections (Section 1, Section 2, etc.).
