Apparel faculty create special gift for President Wintersteen

A custom-made jacket, designed by a team in the department of apparel, events and hospitality management, was presented as a surprise gift from the university community during a farewell reception for President Wintersteen and Robert Waggoner. 

Faculty and staff involved in the design and production of the jacket are part of Iowa State’s fashion program and the Student Innovation Center. They include:

  • Ling Zhang, associate professor, fashion design and merchandising
  • Yvonne Lee, assistant teaching professor, fashion design and merchandising
  • Chunhui Xiang, associate professor, fashion design and merchandising
  • Jason Gagnon, assistant teaching professor of practice, fashion design and merchandising
  • Dillon Napier, shop supervisor for the electronics, textiles and 3D printing makerspace at the Student Innovation Center
  • Courtney Barbor, technician for the electronics, textiles and 3D printing makerspace at Student Innovation Center
