Responsibilities

My responsibilities included following the members service plans and assisting them with achieving their personal goals, providing support and supervision, meeting their health needs, and light maintenance tasks around the home.

Accomplishments

Most of the members have diet related goals. I was chosen to help lead a more healthy lifestyle for the members. Specifically with the incorporation of vegetables into their diet. Over the months I interned I was able to come up with different ways to incorporate them into their diet that worked for them. We were able to find multiple ways that were successful. I am grateful that I have had a small impact on the lives of the members during my time interning for Mainstream Living.

Learning experience

This intern experience has led me to the career path I am going to pursue after I graduate. The most important things I learned from my internship were to work hard no matter what you're doing and being independent. Working hard whether the task is big or small will build your work ethic. For most of my internship I worked alone, it taught me to make bug decisions on my own and tested my ability to make choices on the fly.

What advice would you give?

My advice is to have fun and make memories. The internship led me to meet some of the most awesome people, and the bond I made with them over the months is irreplaceable. You never know where your internship will lead you!
