Responsibilities

Being the onside intern for our events at the stadium. I was there to help plan and coordinate the events by standing by a mentor and learning the ropes in the event and catering world. Besides coordinating events, I learned skills to manage a restaurant. Scheduling, prepping and handling food, and being in a managerial role helped me gain more knowledge in our field. I also had the opportunity to help with game day activities like promotions!

Accomplishments

Putting on my own event from the start to beginning with little to no help! My supervisor was there with me along the way, but I gained more knowledge when I had the pressure of pulling off an event on my own.

Learning experience

Learning to deal with impolite people. Having bad experiences with poor customers has helped me to know how to deal with poor customers in the future. The event industry is very people based so learning how to deal with ignorant people will go a long way. Patience is key!

What advice would you give?

Any experience is good experience. Do as many internships and job like experiences to gain your knowledge in the event field! It will help you in your future!
