Responsibilities

Throughout this spring and summer the responsibilities my position held were to take daily inventory of our supplies, handle large amounts of money, make schedules for various events, train seasonal staff members, hold various staff meetings, and maintain a clean and friendly complex to the community.

Accomplishments

One of my greatest accomplishments from my experience is I was able to build relationships with people in the community who have a name for themselves and who I am able to use as a reference for the future. I also was able to gain a possible job position once I am finished with school. Finally, I was very proud of myself in the way I worked and had to improvise given weather permitting issues.

Learning experience

Things do not always go according to plan, so improvising became a huge part of my internship. Having my make a concession stand out of a tent, some tables, and coolers in the rain is just an example of something I had to learn. I also utilized "the customer is always right" slogan all spring and summer long because it helped resolve issues as well and gets you much farther with a person than arguing.

What advice would you give?

Stick through the struggles and rough moments your internship my through at you, because it is important to gain experience and keep a positive attitude. Showing your employer that you can work under stressful situations gives them sight on what you are capable of. With that said I was given a lot of responsibilities throughout my internship because I managed my time well and worked efficiently.
