Responsibilities

During my internship with the Ames Community Preschool Center, I worked directly with the assistant school age director on planning summer camp, staff retention, behavioral strategies and much more! I helped plan events for the school age program as well as their main center.

Accomplishments

During my internship, one of my greatest accomplishments was planning multiple events such as their Fun Run, Popsicles with Parents, and helping plan teacher appreciation week. During these events, my goal was to get both parents and community involved with ACPC. We invited parents to both a Fun Run as well as Popsicles with Parents, so they can engage with staff and their children in a fun way. Learning experience

I learned how to manage my time on projects and learned a great lesson in working in real-world situations, and having to think on my feet to provide solutions!

What advice would you give?

Share your ideas and be confident! Ask questions and don't be afraid to ask for opportunities. In this experience, you will learn so much from professionals and they want you to succeed as well.
