Responsibilities

I help facilitate the after school Teen Club in Collins-Maxwell and sometimes Ballard. I also help to plan the summer programs for Ames, Nevada, and Collins-Maxwell. For this, I attend meetings and email potential partners to set up presentations and field trips for the kids. I also helped to plan and carry out Teen Maze in the first week of April! I helped find volunteers and also helped as needed in the Maze Rooms! I do other small jobs that my supervisor needs help with accomplishing like organizing or helping with interviews for summer staff.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment from my experience at Teen Club has been the relationships I have been able to build with the kids there. A few of them have some mental health issues that I have been able to help them access the proper services to get help! Many of them have been able to open up to me and they even consider me their friend!

What advice would you give?

Find an organization that wants to help YOU grow and helps you to find your passion, and supports you! YSS does a fantastic job of that!
