Responsibilities

Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention: Instructed sexuality education for adolescents at a variety of different schools/organizations. Organized projects and events related to topics such as sexuality, bullying, and human development. Developed and presented lesson plans for classes at DMACC in Ames, IA. Researched and implemented information on sexuality and related topics. Collected data from surveys and created presentations for results.

Accomplishments

Throughout this experience, I was able to educate adolescents in middle schools and high schools throughout Boone County and Story County. Because of this, I know that I was able to make a great impact on these individuals in a way that may provide them with more positive futures.

What advice would you give?

Do not be afraid to expand outside of your personal bubble. The whole point of experiences such as this are to expand your horizons and try new things that you could potentially enjoy and continue doing in the future. Even if it does not seem like something you will enjoy, try it out! You'll never know if you don't try.
