Responsibilities

I worked on various projects including the Pillowcase Project, Home Fire Campaign, and Sound the Alarm. I had the privilege to help train, organize, and mobilize volunteers to different disasters. During my time I was in charge of recruiting, engaging, and retaining new volunteers to the Central Iowa Chapter. As being with the disaster team in Iowa I would respond to local, state, and national disasters.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment in my time with the American Red Cross was being able to bring disaster preparedness presentations to the youth of central Iowa. I was a part of a team of staff and volunteers that was in charge of bring the preparedness information to the youth throughout the area to better educate the youth.

What advice would you give?

My advice for future students is to experience as much as you can in your time at Iowa State. These experiences will open doors for countless opportunities.
