Responsibilities

During my internship, I worked hands-on with design technology. I learned how to print fabric, laser cut, and embroider student work. I maintained an organized space and built strong relationships with our clients.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment was gaining a deep understanding of how the design technology works and being able to use them comfortably. I enjoyed seeing the reactions students have after their requests are finished.

Learning experience

I learned that it is important to follow an organized system and to be patient with others. There are a lot of tasks to complete within the DATS lab, so communication is key to ensuring we are working efficiently. Another lesson I learned is to never be afraid to ask for help. It saves time in the long run.

What advice would you give?

My advice to future students is it is never too early to start. Whether it is applying to internships or learning a new skill - start now! These experiences will help you grow and build a strong foundation for your future. Also, make every project count because it is something you will look back at.
