Responsibilities

-Assist in preparing for and working events, including weekly women's and men's leagues -ensure member and non-member happiness -assist in daily sales as needed -manage bar -generate bill for events at end of night (room rental, food, drinks, tax, gratuity) -close register -always try be generating new business

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment during my internship experience is planning "Parents Night Out". This is not going to start until August but the idea is that members will be able to come out on Saturday nights from 5-8 and golf while their kids can come inside the clubhouse and do activities with staff. It will be $15 per kid and the kids will also be served dinner during this time. This will provide a way for Indian Creek to generate a little extra income and a chance for members to have a babysitter while they golf.

Learning experience

One of the most valuable lessons that I have learned from my internship is that it is important to consider that when people are paying for a service such as a membership, that they are content with what they are getting.

What advice would you give?

My advice for students is, It is important to find an internship that you know you will gain good experience and knowledge from. Take your time when picking an internship and don't pick the first one that comes up until you have done your research on that company.
