Responsibilities

Some of my internship responsibilities are to response to crisis lines and help victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. I also interact with clients on a regular basis and provide them with service information.

Accomplishments

Some of my greatest accomplishments here at ACCESS is helping clients. When I get tough calls I like to make clients feel heard, I have also bee helping clients find affordable apartments and give them some referrals to other services that might be helpful for them.

What advice would you give?

Some of the advice that I would give future students is to look for an internship starting your senior year or before. I struggled with the application process and most internship spots were all filled because I waited to the last minute. Be eager to learn, ask a lot of questions and ask if you can participate in more things that seem interesting to you even if they weren't on your responsibility description.
