Bailee Gustafson

Responsibilities

As a treatment counselor I work under the direct supervision of the Milieu Treatment Coordinator who oversees milieu programming. I am responsible for the supervision of up to ten residents and contribute to the operation of the residential treatment program. I support the overall vision of reducing punitive outcomes by creating a sanctuary of safety that eliminates barriers to healing.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment has been the relationships I have built with my clients. Residents stay with us for up to one year. It is rewarding to watch them grow and learn.

Learning experience

My greatest lesson has been that it is okay to ask for help. My team works best when everyone is communicating and sometimes that means being honest about when you need extra support.

What advice would you give?

A piece of advice I have is to put effort into the career fairs and reach out to companies after speaking with them. I found my internship through the career fair and I wouldn't have found them otherwise!
