I work as an office intern where I help to complete NAEYC preparation work, create an after school club program for the school age children. I also help with interviews for the potential staff and interview the candidates references.
I think the greatest accomplishment has been working on creating the NAEYC accreditation materials. The center is going through the accreditation process in February so I am working on getting the paperwork filed in the correct areas, which has involved a lot of hours of work.
What advice would you give?
The biggest advice I have is to go into your internship with an open mind. I thought that I would really enjoy being a full time daycare teacher because that is what I have known. However, I now realize that I would enjoy a different position in a daycare setting, because I had the opportunity to try something new.
