Responsibilities

The main responsibilities were to take patients' blood pressure during rest and exercise. Other responsibilities included giving them a weekly education and assisting the patient with setting up the machine and how much time they were going for.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment was going into it with little to no experience in EKG reading, but I came out with more than I started with seeing different EKGs across different patients. Another is better judgment for taking blood pressure.

Learning experience

Keep practicing on something, even if it's not on a special population but on friends and family; this will help build better skills. Another lesson to learn is to soak up the experience as well, not only doing the duties but if you are experiencing something different soak the information up.

What advice would you give?

Kinesiology is a great way to start if you are planning on looking into a hospital. Keep your mind open because it will open you to future academics in the medical field, this field is broad you just have to step into it.
