Responsibilities

During the week days I would work on; excel assignments, run errands, organize studio, help with wedding designs, process floral, make floral arrangements, etc. On the weekends I usually worked an event, typically a wedding. At the event we made sure everything went smoothly following a timeline. We made sure all vendors showed up and was doing what they were suppose to be doing. We helped set up the decor if it was a full planning service wedding.

Accomplishments

Was able to lean more about the event industry. By the end of the internship I flew solo as the venue coordinator for a wedding at Mavens studio.

What advice would you give?

My advice is to take Retail math before internships because many merchandising internships require it. I would also recommend networking, you hear it all the time but reach out to connections on jobs because it truly helps. My other advice is to apply apply apply, you can't get an internship without applying and every interview will help you for the next.
