Responsibilities

The first four weeks becoming comfortable with the sales floor and merchandise, and the last 5 weeks spent transitioning to the executive offices working under a buyer. Other tasks related to buying included attending vendor meetings, competitive shopping, and help select product for future seasons.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment during my internship was completing a worksheet for a vendor on my own. For the 5 weeks that I had been in headquarters, I had helped with numerous worksheets for orders and was able to complete one on my own by the end of the internship.

Learning experience

The greatest lesson I learned from my experience is to be open minded and present. I learned so much from managers at the store, executives in the offices, and the buyers I worked directly under. By keeping an open mind and being present throughout my experience, I was able to retain information and learn from my superiors.

What advice would you give?

My advice to future students is to go into the internships looking to learn and grow in their career skills and networking.
