Responsibilities

• Collaborates with marketing team to leverage different multimedia platforms in order to effectively brand our company in the marketplace • Creates engaging content for media releases and social media pages • Assist with local public relations activity (i.e. press releases and media responses) • Help create video and other multimedia for internal communication channels • Assist with company intranet branding, messaging, and content management • Support the creation of a refreshed community relations and corporate giving strategy • Additional communications support determined by candidate’s experience

Accomplishments

If I were to be highly specific on a project that I thought was my greatest accomplishment out of them all I would choose the redesigning of our company swag box. This was a great accomplishment because not only did I get to work in all aspects of communications, PR, marketing, apparel etc. but I also got this project done in a short time frame. Seeing employees and interns' faces light up when seeing this new hire swag box made me feel like I have accomplished something that will make people happy and excited to join GuideOne for a long time.

Learning experience

The greatest lessons I have learned are to make sure you are confident in your work and decision, listening is so important, always be on time, and remember to think creatively. I have learned many things in my time here as an intern but these are just a select few that I will personally take with me for the rest of my life and career path. Always put your strengths forward.

What advice would you give?

This summer I ended up at an insurance company doing communications, marketing, and PR. Be confident in yourself and get an internship that will allow you to get real world experience that you will take with you along your career path wherever you end up.
