Assisting EVP and Account Executive in all aspects of the sales process, including showroom management, market preparation, and administrative support. Assisting with and attending market appointments and product knowledge clinics at NYC Retailers. Re-merchandising and organization of the showroom. Recording account sales and create weekly reports. Organizing documents and calendar related to sales and purchase orders. Checking store orders for accuracy. Assisting with sample maintenance & shipping. Tracking samples to ensure they are effectively managed between sales, PR, and production departments. Researching national and international stores.
One of my greatest accomplishments from my experience was being able to help out with the Fall/Winter 2020 fashion show. Never in my life did I think that I would be able to work at a New York Fashion Week show and it was such a great experience.
My greatest lesson learned from my experience is all of the different aspects that go into running a business. Since Brandon Maxwell is still somewhat new, it is small and growing. I was able to see different departments and what they have to do to keep the business afloat.
What advice would you give?
My advice for future students is to apply to different types of internships. You never know what kind of internship it going to best suit you. I applied to a bunch of internships and it was nice because I was able to have multiple options to choose from.
