Responsibilities

During my internship I am the food and beverage supervisor. I am overseeing employees and quality of service. The responsibilities are to ensure guest satisfaction of food and beverage and service, oversee food and bar inventory and rotating menu items, schedule employees, arrange the floor seating plan, handling employee cash-outs at the end of their shift, distribute payment of tips to employees, count and reset all financial drawers, and assist in producing payrolls for all employees. This internship will provide a great knowledge of the total duties of a restaurant manager.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment during my internship experience would be developing my communication and management skills. With the help of this internship, it has truly helped me develop personally. It has taught me the maturity I need to be if I want to be a leader and a successful business owner.

Learning experience

The greatest lesson I have learned from my experience is everything I have learned so far. I believe this is the most I have learned from any experience. I would say the more experience you have in a field, the more you know and develop in that atmosphere. However, a memorable lesson that stuck with me and I learned is to always have that

What advice would you give?

My advice for future students in my major is that the more work you put into yourself and the business, the more the business and you will grow. My advice for people in the restaurant business is to get familiar with working at all positions because it will make things more efficient for yourself and the business. Knowing how to work in any position makes you versatile, making yourself worth more. This also helps the business in situations if you are short in personnel.
