Responsibilities

Assist with all duties of the lead exercise specialist in the clinic. Performing stress test, wellness assessments, walk test, creating programs for cardiac and pulmonary patients. Interns are also responsible for taking vitals, RPE, and cleaning equipment.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment has been gaining the trust and respect of patients and my co-workers. Knowledge in this field means very little if the patients/clients do not trust you or believe in the product you're selling. I've built solid relationships with each client I have been assigned and it keeps them coming back and progressing.

What advice would you give?

Have fun with this experience. It will only be as valuable as you make it. Every time you're asked to observe or help with anything say yes, you'll be glad you did. Especially if its new or challenging to you. Be honest about your strengths and weaknesses. The staff is only there to help you, not judge you.
