Responsibilities
I spent my time as a Personal Trainer at Anytime Fitness. I was tasked with creating exercise programs for individuals with specific fitness goals. I led small group classes. I also created MyZone Pop-Up Cardio classes that will be a part of the full time schedule moving forward!
Accomplishments
The creation of the MyZone Pop-up Cardio classes is my greatest accomplishment. We got rid of the typical group fitness classes back in March. In June I was tasked with creating pop-up events to help promote our MyZone Heart Rate Monitors. I came up with the idea of bringing back group cardio classes that used the many capabilities and activities that come with the heart rate monitors. It has been a huge success to where we now offer one class every week day when it just started out as only one day a week.
Learning experience
I learned that a lot of people have goals to better themselves and their health but some people need that little extra motivation to get started on that path. People go through a lot in their everyday lives and being a person that can help them escape for a little bit with physical activity can go a long ways. Creating a culture of a community of friends and families in the fitness world makes the whole journey worth it.
What advice would you give?
Everyone you work with is different in their own ways so do your best to hear every individuals needs and run with it. You are going to have people on their best days and their worst days so treat every day differently. Lead with enthusiasm, passion, and kindness and you will succeed in this career field.
