Responsibilities

This is a food and beverage internship. I've been getting to experience all the different departments of food and beverage at the club. I've been working along side the management to see their view and perspectives on how they get them to run smoothly. I also have been helping them with changes and improvements in all of the departments (banquet/events, mixed grill restaurant, beverage cart, pool snack bar).

Accomplishments

Working their biggest golf tournament and banquet called the White Alloe. Also, making a lot of connections and networking with the members.

What advice would you give?

I felt like I did a good job explaining what I wanted and what was required. Since this was their first internship they seemed very flexible on what they could give me. I emailed a few times before my internship but never got responses (red flag). The manager that hired me had found a new job and when I got their nobody knew my requirements and weren't prepared to have interns. My advice for future students is to go ask more questions and get a good understanding on what exactly they want from you as an intern. I would ask to reach out to all the managers so they ALL understand what you need from this internship.
