Responsibilities

At my internship I plan and execute many different events from festivals, concerts and weddings. I work with vendors, artists, marketing directors, and many other people who help play a part in the grand scheme of things. I also do a lot of the logistical part of things when it comes to planning events - things like how many scanners will we need to check ids, how many wristbands will we need. Overall, I do a little bit of everything.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment is/was planning an event for RAGBRAI that was for 25,000 people!

Learning experience

The greatest lesson I learned was that it is okay to make mistakes and it is always okay to ask questions to make sure you understand what you are supposed to be doing.

What advice would you give?

Advice I would give to people is to don't doubt yourself. If you are hesitant about taking an internship or applying for something, it never will hurt to at least try. You also are always able to learn how to do things as you go, and you are only benefiting yourself!
