I am an intern at a wedding planning company called See Jane Plan, I have many different responsibilities on the wedding day! One of the biggest ones is to prepare the reception room for the reception. This includes setting all tables and chairs, place settings at each table, setting up the bride and grooms dessert table and gift table, and making sure that all vendors know where to go and what to do. Then after the festivities have begun our main job is to make sure everyone is happy and that the bride and groom are having a good time! Then at the very end of the night, it's clean up time! We do most of the clean up alongside the venue clean up team.
I think one of the greatest accomplishments I've had in this internship would be when I and one other person did set up at the reception location, and we managed all the vendors coming in and out. This was a big responsibility for me, and my boss ended up being so happy with how the room turned out!
What advice would you give?
Reach out for what you want! When I reached out to See Jane Plan I just found her website on my friends Instagram and I didn't know if she was looking for interns but I knew I wanted to work weddings! And by some luck, she was looking for interns during that time I emailed her! If you want something go after it!
