Managed activities, engaged with residents in group activities and 1:1’s, charted activities, engaged in care conference meetings, and assisted in creating care forms.

Accomplishments

Building relationships with residents and staff, they have given me so many memories that I’ll cherish forever!

Learning experience

The biggest lesson that I learned is to always be prepared! Furthermore, be prepared to become unprepared.

What advice would you give?

Advice that I’d given to new students is to open to new experiences rather than being closed off. I came into my internship thinking that social work was exactly what I wanted to do. Although, after working in activities so much, my passionate for it grew and now I have a full time job as an activities director!
