Responsibilities

During my internship, I facilitated support groups and school groups. I helped the program coordinator get ready for school groups by putting the curriculum into binders and putting supplies for facilitators in the rooms. I also helped put participant data into their system.

Accomplishments

My biggest accomplishment was leading my rural school support group from lower elementary to high school age. Another big accomplishment was creating the middle school curriculum for support groups.

Learning experience

I learned it is very important to communicate. Communication can create connections and help you achieve a lot in your career. Also, being open to new opportunities is important.

What advice would you give?

Be open to what internship or job you want to have. I never thought grief and loss would be something I would want to pursue, but after experiencing my internship, I have a passion for it and it is so rewarding!
