Responsibilities

During my internship I played a few different roles. During the week I helped with packing rentals, cleaning rentals, organizing the warehouse, and helping prepare stationary for the upcoming weekend. On the weekends I would help set up + tear down events. I also got to shadow a few of the lead planners on wedding days.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment from my internship was getting to pack, set up, tear down and experience our million dollar wedding this summer. I got to see a lot of the work leading up to the weekend, so seeing it all come together was so amazing.

Learning experience

I would say that this experience has brought me out of my shell. In this industry you really can't be shy, I learned a lot of about how to communicate with not only the bride and groom, but also vendors, family, and attendees. I've noticed a lot more confidence in my communication skills as the summer has gone on.

What advice would you give?

I would advice that you try everything before choosing a track. I took all different types of event classes to keep my options open to all the things you can do with this degree. After my internship, I can confidently say I am 100% set on weddings.
